    Hi,

I'm looking to study on online courses related to Web Design or Graphic Design to help me increase my chances of being hired internationally. I have more than 5 years working experience in being a freelance Web Designer / Web Developer, problem is my education background isn't that good. I am an undergraduate of "Bachelor of Science in Computer Science" and a graduate of Associate Degree in "System Design and Programming" here in our local school. Both school that I went to aren't recognize internationally so I only have my Portfolio to sell me.

I want to study again to get me a proper paper that would help me push my chances in getting employed internationally. I am planning to work in countries such as Australia, Canada or United States (mainly first world countries). My constrain right now is Budget and Time. I can only dedicate 1year to 1.5year and can only spend up to 1,200 USD - 2,000 USD per program.

I've research on some online school and found Pennfoster Career School (Penn Foster Career School | Self-Paced, Distance Learning Programs) the most relevant to what im looking for. It fits to my budget and time. I am planning in taking up "Web Page Designer" (Web Page Designer Training Outline | Penn Foster Career School International) I'm just not sure if they are internationally recognize and could be help to my career.

My main reason I would need to be a Graduate in related course to my field (Web Design/Development) is because if I need to move to other countries It wouldn't be hard for me since I have a good experience and also good education. Right now, I can't easily go and work on other countries because I feel my education is the one dragging me.

Please suggest to me if you know a Program that fits to my need or you think Pennfoster is a good option for me.

What is your goal? Are you looking for a program with international recognition? Do you have a Bachelors? I don't think one needs a graduate degree in order to do Web Design and Development and Penn Foster's program is not even a degree granting program. It looks like you are not sure of what you are looking for.

Pennfoster is a vocational school and so completing a program with them may have very limited utility. Please be cautious.

Hi, with regard to your post, I would like to ask you a question: Which school(s) did you obtain your Bachelors and Associates from?
What do you mean by "aren't recognized internationally?" Because if the degrees are accredited in your home country, you cannot rule out the possibility of degree equivalency in the United States or other countries.
In your case, I'd suggest that you apply for a credential evaluation from the country you're keen to work in.
For instance, if you're going to apply for a job in the United States, you can send your foreign degrees to WES for them to evaluate.
Here's the link: World Education Services - International Education Intelligence
Chances are that your degrees might equivalent or slightly inferior, e.g. Your Bachelors Degree= US Associates Degree, due to lack of content or changes in syllabuses.
Anyways, once you've gotten your evaluation, you'll be better off in making a decision.

Oh, by the way, Penn Foster Career School is regionally accredited for its vocational programs. =)
But as it states in its program, the Web Page Designer course will result in a Career Diploma. Another great school for your expertise would be Sessions College.
Sessions College is DETC (nationally) accredited though. However, it offers a variety of web & graphic designing programs, ranging from certificates to college degrees.
Take my advice; if you already have degrees in this discipline, why don't you send them for evaluation first?

    Cheers,
    Christina

If you already have a bachelors degree you could think about getting a master's degree from a great school (look at Harvard Extension MA programs), and at the same time polish your design portfolio with a portfolio preparation certificate program like elevepro.com. You would have the Harvard MA, and a portfolio CV ready to go.

Web and Graphic design programs are a minefield of scams and ripoffs. I'd tend towards a regular degular with a focus in one or the other. A masters degree in CS with a focus on web application development would be impressive I think. Now a days, people don't want websites, they want web applications. Basic, simple websites are much less common than they were very recently.
