I just saw Forbes Magazine put these cities as top Tech Job. Do you agree?

    " Seattle
    Washington, D.C.
San Diego / Carlsbad / San Marcos
    Salt Lake City
    Baltimore / Townson
    Jacksonville
San Jose / Sunnyvale / Santa Clara
    Columbus
    Raleigh / Cary
    Nashville / Davidson / Murfreesboro / Franklin
    "

    TEKMAN,
I think we can attest to DC being resilient to economic downturns and IT jobs here pays well, at least that is my experience in contracting. I actually find the other options interesting however.

Wait, Tekman, your sig says you're in a PhD program at Old Domino's University. Do you mean Old Dominion, or are you in the process of becoming a pizza expert? :)

Hmm. This list doesn't even mention any cities in the Dakotas.

I agree that Washington D.C is the one, but because of Federal Government Agencies and Organizations. However, I do not agree Salt Lake City and Nashville. The list is mixing around...

    Mr. Foerster,

Actually I dropped out Capella University's Ph.D program last year. I am accepted to Colorado Tech for Doctorate in Computer Science; however, I am also applying for McMaster University and Nova Southeastern University for their Ph.D in Computer Science for fall 2012. I am concern about the title because who knows DCS over Ph.D; so, I am hoping to being accepted to Nova Southeastern University's program. I just realize that 4 residencies per year is not bad at all, only $200.00 route trip plane ticket to Ft. Lauderdale...just treat it as mini vacations.

As far as my signature goes...I do not know what to put as surpass Master level and awaiting for decision from McMaster and NSU. So, I put Ph.D (Pizza Home-Delivery) from Old Domino's University (sounds like Old Dominion University). :)

To be honest, I think they should move all the Technical Support jobs to smaller cities in the United States instead oversea. The Army utilizes Help Desk Centers in Oklahoma City and Nashville, even though AKO/DKO Help Desk as well.

Dell also has a tech support center here in Oklahoma City as well as one in Nashville. Its definitely cheaper than larger cities on the east and west coasts (Cost of living wise), but still not as cheap india, however I'm sure customers in the U.S prefer talking to native English speakers when getting technical support due to the accent issues.

I find it interesting that San Francisco, Austin or Dallas are not on the list. New York should be another "biggie" at least in the financial services sector.

Actually, U.S Army outsource their technical support to Dell. If anybody call AKO/DKO tech support will be rounded to Nashville and Oklahoma City.
