Hello, I am looking to find out about a computer related bachelor's degree to backup my several years experience in the "general" IT field. My ultimate goal is to find employment with a law enforcement organization.
I am Interested in Computer Forensics and trying to find a college/ university that is Regionally Accredited, affordable - military friendly and offering "online" classes.
...with a major in? ...minor in?
Any suggestions preferably from someone that is going or gone that route and can give helpful information - would be greatly appreciated.

Ps.: ...also interested in "Project Management", however I am not sure how that could be seen as IT related or would tie into backing up my IT experience in any way. I had also been thinking about DBA, Info Sys Security, however I have not done much research on DBA and do not have much interest in Info Sys Security.

What questions do you have specifically about forensics? I'm in the field and have to warn you: Digital Forensics is a hard field to break into with few jobs out there - particularly without experience.
Step 1: check out forensicfocus.com - there are plenty of threads there dealing with education in the forensics realm. Reading your other thread, it seems as though you may have an equivalent of a Bachelor of Mech Engineering ? If that's the case, I would not recommend another bachelor's degree, but would lean towards obtaining certifications (undergrad and/or graduate certificates) / training (tool specific (FTK, EnCase) or in-depth (e.g. SANS Forensics courses).

Once you have some training, look for some volunteer positions where you can get some hands-on experience... I know that the Canadian Forces have MPs that are forensic analysts - is that an option with your military branch?

Wennst noch andere Fragen hast, kannst mir gerne Nachrichtn schickn. :)

Champlain College has an online computer forensics degree program,
Computer Forensics Degrees & Certificates | Champlain College Online

Carnegie Mellon's Software Engineering Institue is not online but offers training in computer forensics, incident handling and response.

SEI Training | Certificates | Information Security Certificate Programs | SEI Certificate in Information Security

If you can't get experience then get the best training that you can afford. SANS is also a good option but also fairly expensive.

Stanford Center for Professional Development offers an online Advanced Computer Security Professional Certificate online.

Its nice to have but experience, and certification will trump a professional certificate.

Digital Forensics is a multidisciplinary field requiring knowledge in information security, law, procedural evidence handling, and investigation.
