It depends what kind of certification you're talking about and what kind of degree from what school ...

In terms of industry standard certifications like MSCE or CCNA or ITIL or CompTIA, it doesn't matter if you take classes online or locally, as long as you pass the actual test.

If by "certification" you mean something like ExpertRating.com, those kind of certs probably have very little value in the real world.

When it comes to degrees, as long as a school is accredited (preferably regionally accredited if possible) then it won't matter to most employers whether you did it online or offline. If possible you should try to do your degree at a B&M school which also offers online degrees, just to avoid some of the lingering (and unfair) negative stigma that's attached to online-only programs/schools.

I am not sure if you are referring to IT industrial certifications (mentioned by emmzee) or BenchTech. But the best way to find out by searching for IT jobs with those certifications. Usually, BenchTech certifications have no value in comparison to CCNA, CCNP, CCIE or CISSP. Recently in the IT field, College degree is standard, and IT certifications are supplement. But over all experiences play the important part of the field. Here is my pseudo math: College degree (30%) + IT Certification (20%) + Experiences (50%) = landing a job successful.

Thank you very much TEKMAN well I already have degree in IT but I am not that confident because I don't have enough experience in it. After Graduating in college, I work in a Marketing company I don't know why I worked their but I enjoy the work then my next job is still in marketing but in a higher position because I have background in IT. But right now I want to pursue my career as IT professional and take some certification and get experience and get a much better job in IT world.

Yes I am referring to IT industry after finding the job requirements and the certification where can I find online schools that can be trusted, so I can earn certification and knowledge?

Frankly, I do not pay for IT certification training. Especially, the exam fee is expensive by itself. If you're looking for this option, I would recommend you to check out Western Governors University's programs. You can earn a degree and certifications as the same time.

    Good luck!
