Looking to hear about the experiences of others....
I'm currently 12 days away from finishing my undergraduate degree with University of Phoenix. In the past year it's become a nightmare attending there because of eText books, poor quality instructors and admin, and generally poor quality classes for one's specialty courses.
I'm considering Regis for my graduate degree program. I've selected them because I like the MSIT in Networking program. The courses offered with the program are all technical in nature - not business related like UOP. You won't be taking anything like Organizational Behavior in this program. Secondly the course format seems to be what I'm used to - no video taped lectures, an asynchronous format where one can log in and attend at any time of the day.
I'd like to hear from anyone who has attended this school to find what his/her personal experiences where. Want to know if it's as good as it sounds.
    Thanks in advance,
    Cyndy

    Hi Cyndy

Although I'm not in a grad or IT-related class, I can give you some insight on Regis since I'm currently enrolled in a philosophy online course. So far, the experience has been great! The admissions people were extremely helpful. The online format, WebCT, is very easy to use. This particular instructor is very interactive and I've never had to wait longer than several hours for an email response. I got the textbooks in the mail in about 5 days from my online order. I've taken a few online courses from a few different institutions and this is the best experience I've had so far. I'm not sure how different an IT grad class will be but if this is any judge you can't go wrong with it. The only possible downside is the price ($765) per class. However, I hear UOP is pretty steep as well. If you want to email me I can give you a good admissions contact there and maybe some other particulars I may not be thinking of right now.

    Regards

    Kevan

    Hi Kevan,
Thanks so much for the reply. I would like to discuss a few things off-line with you. I'm new to this message board, but I didn't see any obvious way to send you an email...
My email is [email protected]. Please send me a note if you will.
So far I'm very excited about Regis. It looks to have a smaller size than UOP so it might be a little more intuitive to the needs of the students. I also saw that Regis has a student's representive organization that's recognized. UOP doesn't. They just keep screwing you and screwing you and the students have no say in anything.
I'm particualarly interested in the class structure. Are all your classes structured about the same? At UOP its about the same. In some ways this is nice, you know what to expect but the instructors don't have much say in how the class should go and there's a study group project for each and every class. The group project is a real draw back to the UOP experience.
Thanks in advance - I was wondering if any Regis student's were out there!

    Simon,

BTW, I'm still most impressed with this program! I've had some off-line responses to my inquiry that have confirmed my thoughts about Regis.
