The MS-InfoSystems actually requires an on-campus residency every six weeks for two of the classes. BUT, you can take those required classes at another university and transfer them in if you can find them online. Not a bad option for someone who doesn't mind driving there every six weeks though.

Engineers apply the principles of science and mathematics to develop economical solutions to technical problems. Their work is the link between scientific discoveries and the commercial applications that meet societal and consumer needs.
Many engineers develop new products. During the process, they consider several factors. For example, in developing an industrial robot, engineers specify the functional requirements precisely; design and test the robot's components; integrate the components to produce the final design; and evaluate the design's overall effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety.
In addition to their involvement in design and development, many engineers work in testing, production, or maintenance. These engineers supervise production in factories, determine the causes of a component’s failure, and test manufactured products to maintain quality. They also estimate the time and cost required to complete projects.
•Starting salaries are among the highest of all college graduates.
•Employment is projected to grow faster than the average for all occupations, although growth will vary by specialty; overall job opportunities for engineers are expected to be good.
•A bachelor's degree in engineering is required for most entry-level jobs, but some positions may require a graduate degree. Click To Find Engineering Schools | | | | | | M.A. in Homeland Security, American Military University

West Florida
I happen to do a google search for CS degrees and was looking through each school that came up. I came across West Florida. I know they were mentioned here that they offer an MSA Database Admin which did not interest me. However, I believe they have changed things and from what I gather from the web site and from contacting them is that they now are offering a MS. CS with a specialty in database systems.
I am really looking at this program because most other CS degrees require that I take many pre-req classes that would drive the cost up considerably since I have a business degree and not an undergrad CS or engineering degree. I also like that for required paper exams I can use my local testing center. They also have a out-of-state tuition waiver that brings the cost down. I also wanted a CS degree and not CIS /IS/MIS. You do have to do either a GRE or GMAT.
The tuition isn't the lowest, but I believe the other factors carry weight. Their BS engineering degrees are ABET accredited, and I think being associated with a school like that will carry some weight. BTW, they are considering a decrease in the tuition waiver and it will go down from a 100% waiver to 90% for 2012 from what I have heard. Still a reasonable deal.
Anyone know of something comparable? I'm still searching. | | | | | Ashford University | Ashford University

Click To Find Engineering Schools | | | | | | Tom
