Does anybody know any new Doctorate degree in Science, Engineering, and Information Technology via distance learning?

Have you looked at: Degree Programs - Bagley College of Engineering Distance- Mississippi State University It baffles me that most schools offer DL doctorate in business, when there's also huge demand for DL doctorates in technical fields (not PhD in Business or Management with technical specializations - there are not the same). I would think schools like Grand Canyon or Indiana Tech would offer some form of "real" IT-related doctorate, instead of just the business and management doctorates that they do presently. Their present tuition rates are reasonable, and I think adding an IT doctorate would attract a unique pool of students. Yearly, Dakota State University reject tons of students who apply to be admitted into their DSc in IS. A school like Indiana Tech, for example, could easily attract a huge pool of folks (in the U.S. and from abroad) interested in technical degrees. I suspect those who make decisions pertaining to what programs should be offered at their respective schools are out of touch with demand (reality). Disappointing, to say the least.

Yeah, I have looked at Mississippi State University. DSU rejected tons of students because I think the price tag is inexpensive; therefore, they have more number of students to apply.

New Jersey Institute of Technology's programs look interesting. Since I live in Washington D.C, a trip to New Jersey once in awhile is not bad at all.

I do, but the bridge from Professional Degree to Doctor of Engineering Science seems to be blurry. Especially, the program is new, and nobody has done it yet.

At this point I consider these schools....

    - Columbia University - Doctor of Engineering Science in Telecommunications
    - Nova Southeastern University - Ph.D in Computer Science
    - George Washington University (cohort locally - Arlington, VA starts Spring 2013) Ph.D in System Engineering/Engineering Management

I just looked at the Columbia University's Doctor of Engineering Science. It seems it does not have an ROI. The current tuition is about ~ $5,000.00 per course. The program requires 14 courses beyond a Master degree. The total current tuition is $70,000.00. If I am not mistaken, the tuition was about $3,500.00 per course about 1 1/2 years ago. I don't know how much the tuition is going to be in 4 - 5 years during the time being...

Southern Methodist University (SMU) is not new, but it is rarely mentioned here, so some people may not be aware of it. It is also very expensive.

I graduated from there with Master of Science in Telecommunications last year. You're right, their price tag is expensive too. However, It cost me only $9,000.00 out of my pocket (tuition, books, and fees). I received 50% tuition off as I had active duty military ID card. My employer reimbursed $11,000.00 during that 3 years. Therefore, my final price tag was only $9,000.00. I wouldn't attend SMU with full price tag, and everything out of my pocket.
