Long ago, I got my A+, N+, and MCP (XP Pro). I have two vouchers for two server 2003 tests. Originally the goal was to get my MCSA, but then I got distracted by getting my degree. Now that I have achieved my two year degree it feels like getting my four year degree is just more than I want to bight off right now, but I was considering achieving that long allusive MCSA server 2003 since I've already paid for it and have done some significant study already on the topic. Question: Does my MCP in xp pro (having difficulty finding my exact award date but it was roughly three years ago) expire. Would an MCSA in server 03 expire? Does the industry still value Server 03 certifications? These are just cursory thoughts, so even a good link from the last 12 months discussing this issue would be great.
The certs never "expire" but the products retire. I have my MCSE NT 4.0 and MCSA on W2K and they do not expire but doubt they would be in high demand. You can go to Microsoft's website and get your transcript for an exact date of when you passed (if you care). If XP is listed as an option for one of the certification tracks still for the MCSA, you should be good to go.
That is great news! I figure that with my recent unemployment I will be able to pass the last two tests in a couple months and get the credential. I've got some books to re-read and some practice tests, and a computer lab in 2nd bed room to set up a server 03 environment.
