If I had an idea for a proprietary video game, how would I find someone to design/develop the project with me? Might sound crazy, but I have a really great idea! :thinkerg:

Make sure you have a NDA ready to sign before you start discussing anything, and you will be paying for their services.

Other than that, I'd suggest reaching out to your local ITT tech institute's game design program. There may be a student that could work with you in the name of furthering his or her portfolio. Same warning in regards to NDA.

Otherwise, get a game dev kit and work with it.. I recommend darkbasic if you're a total beginner.

Comedy response now that you're set: Leave a trail of mountain dew cans and cheetos that leads to your door.

Do you work for Dew, Cheetos, and substantial equity? :)

That's so true! One of my friends is a programmer, and he drinks more Diet Mountain Dew in one day than I think I could stomach in a lifetime.

Some local kid might be interested, but after a few weeks will have nothing to show for it. When you finally confront him he will confess he thinks your idea is "lame", and doesn't want anything to do with it. Later that week he will release a similar product to your idea, which will result in him becoming a billionaire.

    :D

Thanks, I've contacted 2 people- professionals with experience, but not heard back. Of course I didn't tell them specifically what I wanted to work on.
