    I am considering on transferring to Indiana Tech. I am currently studying for a degree in BBA.IT The school is ABET accredited and has regional accreditation as well. I live in California so I would obviously be studying online. Does anyone have experience with them? I would like to break into the I.T. field and I'm hoping this degree will do it for me.

    Technically, you can't say that "a school is ABET accredited", because ABET only accredits specific degree programs -- not schools. It isn't like regional accreditation, which covers the school as a whole.

    In the case of Indiana Tech, ABET accredits two of their B&M degree programs: the BS in Mechanical Engineering and the BS in Electrical Engineering. If you get any other Indiana Tech degree (including all of their online degrees), it won't have ABET accreditation.

    This doesn't mean that their online degrees are bad; I don't know anything about them. Just wanted to clarify the point about ABET.

    Oh. ok. Thank you for the clarification. I am still new in learning about technology. I thought ABET meant computer degrees too, I guess not. :sigh1:

    ABET does accredit computer science degrees, as well as engineering degrees. However, none of the computer science programs at Indiana Tech are ABET accredited.

    ABET accreditation is important for engineering degrees, but is generally regarded as optional in computer science. So the lack of ABET accreditation at Indiana Tech should probably not be a big concern. Many good schools don't have ABET accreditation for their computer science programs.

    @Love2Learn,
    I currently take IT related courses in the Informatics program at IUPUI. Have you checked into anything that they offer? They have some really great programs. I'm sure they could help you find something geared towards your needs.

    No I haven't. I don't even know what IUPUI is?

    I found them. I googled IUPUI and they obviously came up. I was looking into the B.G.S (Bachelors in General Studies) I think this would be a good program for me because I have an A.A. degree and over 50 units in upper division courses. I am just concerned how my employer will view a degree that doesn't have 'Business' in its title. What degree did you pursue from them or are pursuing? I am at Golden Gate right now and they are very expensive and the thing I hate most is the fact that they are making take 5 semesters of math; because of the math it will put me back a year and 1/2 from earning my degree. Its very frustrating!:ugh1:

    Have you started to look at online mse engineering schools yet? There are quite a few of them out there. It is never too early to start looking at what you need to get in to graduate school. How do you like Indiana Tech so far?
