I actually applied to the program back in 2006, but I withdrew the application for two reasons.

    1) Most of the classes are live, which means you have to be present. Which I would prefer on campus if I have to be at the class certain time.

    2) The school is not well known, even though in the Washington metropolitan area.

The program itself seems to be very in depth; but just not the school itself. I did my program at SMU similar to that...Master of Science in Telecommunications Managements.

Capitol College is a good school as far as I know (eventhough I have no experience as a student). There are several graduates of their MS in Information Assurance program who are presently pursuing their new Doctor of Science in Information Assurance program, and they all say nothing but good things about the school. Just in case you want more options to choose from, Stevenson University (MS in Business & Technology Management), Webster University (MA in Information Technology Management), Brandies University (MS in Information Technology Management), University of Illinois @ Springfield MS in Management Information Systems (offered at $312/credit hour), Regis University (MS in Information Technology Management), TUI University (MS in Information Technology Management (online-only school), and University of Denver University College also offers several customizable master degree options (both in course content and degree name; example, Master of Professional Studies or Master of Applied Science) for the Technology Management area, as well as Bellevue University (MS in Management of Information Systems). I'm sure others can add to this list. Have fun with deciding.

Like Tek, I evaluated this school mid 2010 with intent to apply for the DSc program once I finished up the MBA.

I opted against it for these reasons:

    1. I was advised that for three years either my Tuesday nights or Wednesday nights would be monopolized depending on my cohort. Classes are live and while I could make the sacrifice, the reason why I like online schooling is for the flexibility it provides in terms of schedule.

    2. The only people I could find that had good things to say about the school were those going to the school, employed by the school or alumni of the school. I couldn't seem to find any sort of rankings for Capitol and the people I know working in the VA/DC area for some security consulting firms, had never heard of Capitol.

Now at the same time, I will state that I personally thought that the presentations offered by Capitol were good and the faculty seemed dedicated. The entire package just didn't feel right.

So I guess I just regurgitated someone else's post but the story hasn't changed much in 4 years.
