I finished my MSIS with E commerce concentration from Dakota State University and just wanted to say thanks for all the guidance I received here.
It took me about 2 1/2 year’s part time to finish. The program was great but required a lot of work and a big commitment of time especially my final project.

    Thanks again,

How many classes did you take per term? I'm considering applying for the MS in IS for Jan 2011 term. I applied for the DSc in IS but was denied admission. While the official reason given for the denial of admission was insufficient professors to supervise research, I think it was due to my Ms in IT Management being from TUI University an online-only school. I truly love DSU's course make up, and i refuse to give up.
So are you considering their DSc in IS program? You should seriously give it a shot, its a fantastic program (it seems) based on the curriculum.

    Congratulations!

I would recommend the program to anyone interested in a graduate IS degree its a great school. "How many classes did you take per term?" I took one class per term until the last 3 terms and then I took 2 to 3 classes to get it done. However, one in each term was project initiation and project implementation so it was more self directed. Some classes are only offered once a year so you have to be careful when planning it out.

I have considered their DSc in IS program but want to take some time off before tackling a Doctorate degree. I would like to also get some teaching experience before going back.

DSU graduate programs have become supper popular. When I first started there were about 10-15 people per class. The last few classes there were 20 -30 people per class. As long as your Ms was regionally accredited they were probably being straight with you about insufficient professors.

    Good Luck!

Let me guess: an MBA? Going for an MBA and then completing DSU's D.Sc. in IS would look nice on your resume. Another nice option (assuming tuition cost is not an issue) would be to go for Sullivan's new PhD in Management with the IT Management specialization. DSU's programs are very solid. I wonder why other DL programs cannot emulate them in terms of coursework. Instead, they all seem to offer "business this business that" programs, as though everyone needs a business doctoral program. If they get around to offering doctoral programs in other areas, the tuition is set so high beyond the reach of many. I have a feeling that in the DL information systems arena, DSU tops in program quality, cost, flexibility etc. Anyway, best of luck with your next degree move.
