I have been reading everything I can in this forum and from google, but I would like some more direct responses. I want to obtain a Computer Science degree and I want to get it from a respected online college. Is there a big difference between say Regis and TUI. There is a money difference, but is that money difference going to make sense in the real world to employers? I took a few classes already at TUI but took a break for some personal reasons and am reevaluating if I want to continue going there or go somewhere else. I need it to 100% online. The thing that I liked about Regis is the course looked more in depth then TUI, and I could do a minor in Mathematics. TUI's course listing for a CS degree doesn't look as legit as Regis. Regis's course list looks like a course list I would see at my brick and mortar State University. I don't mind paying more if I am getting a better education from a more respected college.

    Any thoughts would be great.

I looked at some other colleges like Baker but again questioned the reputation with them. Also Mountain State Uni and Uni of Illinois looked like you had to obtain at least a certain amount of credits in class. The other I looked at was Thomas Edison State College but they only offer a BA in CS and not a BS. I am not sure that it matters much but I have always wanted a BS in CS.

    Thanks

I'm currently enrolled in the CS program at Regis and have been satisfied with the CS curriculum. You need to be aware that not all of the courses listed appear to be available online; I've never seen the courses offered for the math minor offered online (they are probably available to students who can attend class in person). Also, Regis has a requirement for a speech class. If you don't already have college credit to meet that requirement, you will need to either find a way to take it at a local institution or test out.

Florida State University offers a BS in Computer Science through distance learning and I would recommend it. However, there are some required classes that Florida State does not offer through distance learning. Many of the required general education, science, and foreign language courses are not offered through distance learning.

I completed Florida State's program about 2.5 years ago. The program is ABET accredited.

Franklin University has a good computer science undergraduate program. Gold standard programs that will be most regarded and with better value/utility should be ABET accredited. So be mindful of that....
