This is an interesting article on potential masters and doctorate programs in information technology, possibly paid by the Navy. Below is a snippet of the article, along with the link.

“The plan details efforts to develop and manage a Navywide cybersecurity and information assurance workforce, including an emphasis on continuous learning through commercial certification and higher education. Full- and part-time master's degree and doctoral programs would be offered at the Naval Postgraduate School, the Air Force Institute of Technology, the Information Resources Management College, and more than 2,700 approved colleges and universities”.

03310151 = Network Admin, with an MBA in IT Management. Former enlisted Marine with Top Secret clearance. Not even getting a whiff from the Navy.

Over qualified? Or is the relationship between the USMC and the US Navy less than amicable?

    ...have you contacted the Navy?

Keep trying. I'm sure the Navy will give a ex-Jarine a shot.

Sorry, I'm ex-Navy and couldn't pass it up.

A buddy of mine recently got hired by DISA in Columbus, OH, and says they are looking for system admins with a TS/SCI. PM me if you want his contact info; sounds like they're willing to hire qualified people who are willing to move to Columbus.

Spoke with someone high up in IT in our DoD agency not to long ago. He is looking for IT people but mentioned his frustration with the government HR process. HR only gives him the "top 3" scored by them, and it turns out they weren't qualified at all. They just worked the keywords in their resume very well based on the announcement. Crazy things like "server experience" was really "experienced server at TGI Fridays."

LOL, I'm going to have to tell that to my buddy. Good luck with the new gig! If you ever wander down to Annapolis feel free to let me know; this jarhead will buy the first round...
