The cheapest degree is your local uni.

I'm guessing that b4 is right. If you feel the need to step outside your own neighborhood the perhaps you'll consider UNISA. It's a very well respected school, especially on the African continent.

    Hi Fahad,

Are you in Hargeisa? If so there seem to be several options locally. I don't think you're going to find quality distance learning for less than 1000 USD per year. UNISA may be worth a try, but they're known for being frustratingly bureaucratic.

Isn't that about what Penn Foster charges? If DETC is OK, and what about Clovis Community College?

No, I haven't been to Somaliland. I'm just interested in the region because I'm in an area in the U.S. where there are a lot of Somalis living, so I've come to know some of them.

In particular, it's interesting that the U.S. and other Western countries keep saying that they want to see examples of democracy in the Middle East and in Islamic countries, yet stubbornly continue to refuse to recognize Somaliland. That makes no sense to me.

As for local colleges and universities not being accredited, I can understand your problem. You might consider asking them whether their graduates have gone on for further study, and if so what other universities recognized their credentials.
