    Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone on the board. I have found the information on this board very useful.

I received an email yesterday letting me know that I was officially accepted into Dakota State University's Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) in Information Systems program. I should receive the official paperwork in the mail within 2 weeks

If my memory serves me correctly, I think that there is someone else on the board who's currently in this program as well. Can you let me know what to expect as I get started in the program?

Congratulation! There several forum members are attending DSU for D.Sc program. One come to my mind is Mr. Eric Brown, here is his website with experience URL: http://ericbrown.com/

Did you submit your GRE or GMAT score?

I didn't have to submit GRE/GMAT scores since I had a GPA over 3.25 and I had a Masters degree. See below...this is from their website:

The test must have been taken within the last five years. The test can be waived if one of the following conditions is met:

    * A cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher on a 4.0 scale for a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university in the U.S.
    * Official admission into and demonstrated success in a regionally accredited graduate program in the U.S. Demonstrated success is defined as grades of A or B in at least 12 hours of graduate work.
    * OR Graduation from a regionally accredited college/university in the U.S. at least 15 years ago or more.

Congratulations. I am new to this forum. I am considering applying to the DSc. IS program at DSU as well. I am a nurse with experience in healthcare informatics. I am looking for a practice doctorate rather than a philosophy doctorate and DSU seems to fit the bill. I see that quite a few of you are attending. How how challenging is it? For those that have graduated, has the degree assisted you to advance in the workplace?
