Oh What day! I woke not feeling well, and the whole day consisted of one problem after the other. I have been covering for a lady who runs a satellite office, and sat with her for about an hour before she took off for vacation. So anyway, I have been trying to do my own work via email, and deleted some files. I have no idea how I deleted them, but I guess it doesn't matter. I am thinking I clicked on something when I got the message about having too many emails. Ay dios! Do guys think our IT guy can restore what I deleted? I am frustrated because I don't have my usual IT buddies I can turn to at the place I am covering. Talk about a bad day! Just for clarification, these were "folders" my friend Steve set up for me to free up some room in my email. The computer system I use is for government use. Abner
Abner if you deleted files from an email system (server) the admin can recover them in most instances. If there is a "Trash" folder, check there and if the files are showing you should have a "Restore" function. If these files are sitting on a computer then you have to recover them differently.
Can they be recovered? Almost certainly the answer is YES. Where I work the price is a decent bottle of wine delivered to the IT Dept. A pair of Red Sox tickets will serve as a pass for the year.
Thanks everybody, I have been out of the office, but I will flag down my friend in IT. It makes me stressed not actually seeing those files where I had them. Abner
