Anyone ever get an MS in CS from Columbia CVN?

I would like to enroll in the MS in CS degree program through the Columbia Video Network. As I understand it, it's not that easy to get in (same standards as regular program). I've read other posts on this forum from users that have taken courses through CVN as a non-degree student, but I've never heard from anyone that was actually enrolled in the MS degree program.

My undergraduate GPA could use improvement, so I've considered taking couses through CVN as a non-degree student to improve my application. It's expensive, so I'm wondering if this will actually help my application significantly, or if I'd just be wasting my money. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

 

Why, specifically, do you want to pursue a degree from CVN? There are many other respected universities out there that offer online MS CS degrees for less money.

 

That's a good question. One reason is because I actually in NYC so I can go to the campus if necessary (though I still want to enroll in a DL program because I have to go to work during the day). The other is because it's one of the best CS programs out there.

 

If you're worried that you won't be accepted outright then I'd guess that if you aced a course or two as a non-degree student, this would show that you are capable of working on that level.
