No, Capella is a regionally accredited online university, not a diploma mill. For more info, check out the Wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capella_University

Capella is a for-profit school and has been subject to controversies in the past. I personally would not consider enrolling there, especially because some of their fees seem unreasonable (a $350 graduation fee? C'mon!) and their tuition is not exactly low. I do, however, have no personal experience with their programs. There are so many IT degrees out there, have you looked at any traditional schools with distance programs?

What is the degree you're looking for? Perhaps, most of the forum members can help you to find the right school that meets your needs. Honestly, I think Capella is too expensive compare to those long with others schools.

Capella is an "online" institution, like University of Phoenix, opposed to a traditional university that offers classes online like Harvard, BU, Brandeis, Carnegie-Mellon, etc.

Just be aware that some people judge "online" universities as inferior to the traditional universities. This may not be true, but that is something to be aware of. The fact that you asked if it was a diploma mill makes me think that some people think it is -- what if the person reviewing your resume thought that?

    Considered...?

Hi. Yes Capella is legit, albeit expensive. From what I've heard, cash is king.

I did a LOT of research before completing my masters and went with TUI (www.tuiu.edu)

The tuition rates are about 1/3 of some other schools. They are WASC accredited and their customer service is AWESOME! Earning a degree is stressful enough without having to deal with administrative issues. TUI is absolutely fantastic. I even met with the Dean of special projects at the campus. The school is great and the staff are solid!

Not the type of diploma mill online school, Capella offers accredited online degree programs that let you fit your education to your life.

It's a common misconception that the University of Phoenix is an "online" school, but in fact it predates the commercial Internet, and even now they have as many student on their campuses sprinkled all over North America as they do online.

Data is the plural. Make a note for future reference.
