Salary Survey 2008 Certification Magazine's annual salary survey is out. How do you stack up? Average salaries for CWNAs and CWSPs took a big jump over 2007: 2007 Average CWNA Salary: $78,000 2007 Average CWSP Salary: $87,000 2008 Average CWNA Salary: $86,170 (+10%) 2008 Average CWSP Salary: $95,120 (+9.5%) Not bad, eh?
I can't really say much about the CWSP but the CWNA is too basic. I did the CWNA preparation program in 5 days and got the certification in 2 weeks. I did it because my employer needed the certification so I could teach some extra courses but the reality is that I don't think that a CWNA alone can lead to a 86K salary. In addition, CWNA is not very well known and now CISCO came with its own baby wireless certification called CCNA Wireless that competes with CWNA.
The problem with these surveys are they don't factor in experience or variables (ie others certs, degrees, location, etc...).
