Tech Worker Happy Days Are Here Again Especially hot are those with skills in Web services, .Net, Java, and ERP. " http://tinyurl.com/qa6dc
To this I can attest. When I was in Richmond last month I was fairly well courted by employers. This is my wife's description based on what she saw, and since I was doing technical interviews it didn't feel like being courted. But at the end of 3 days I had my choice of six figure jobs. There is definitely a shortage of solid .Net folks, and has been for at least a year or more.
Booze & Allen contacted me based on a years-old resume on Monster.com - REALLY wanted me to come for an interview
Indeed. In another thread I asked you to tell me about the program in which you are ABD. Can you tell me the school and such? I want to explore something like that kind of program. Or at least find out more about it. Thanks!
Pretty sure I answered your query - NCU (www.ncu.edu). NSU is also good (Computing Technology in Education, www.scis.nova.edu) but NCU has a military retiree discount - and NO residency.
The present climate for us techies definitely appears to have improved considerably over the past year. I'm receiving calls or e-mails from recruiters nearly every week.
While it is true that "good" days are back, the demand this time around is different. Companies are looking for people with good technical and non technical skills (Project Mgmt, communications etc).
It doesn't look like this little boom is for entry level folks. Last time they were recruiting MCSE's-to be out of McDonalds. My experience this time is that senior people are in demand.
