    Hi everybody

I've been reading so many posts around here in my quest to find a well-fitted DL university for my Masters degree, and I'm quite impressed with the level of cooperation and intellectualism people show around here.

That's why I decided to go ahead and ask for help in finding a school for my choice of degree program: IT Architecture. Now I don't know if there are any schools that offer this exact program, but I'm hoping I could find something similar or along the lines. My goal is develop platform-netural IT architecture skills which will lead me directly to my career goal and that is to be a IT architect guru planning and architecting enterperise IT systems (and yeah big bucks lie around the corner here).

So if you guys know any degree in an RA university which would be a good candidate for investigation then I'll be more than grateful if you share this info with me.

    Thanks in advance!

    AL

One place that comes to mind immediately is Capitol College. There are a few posters here that are either going to or have attended this school so at least you could get first hand opinions about their programs. They have a MS in Information Architecture which seems to fall under the subject of IT Architecture. Take a look at http://www.capitol-college.edu/academicprograms/graduateprograms/msia/msia.shtml.

Man! it sure looks interesting. Although I didn't see no exact "Information Architecture" program. There is Internet Engineering, Information Assurance, and some management program. Are you sure they have an IT architecture program ?

Capitol is a great school. They renamed the IA to IE, as you found below. Not at great amount of name recognition (small, private and non-profit, but in bed with NASA, NSA and Cisco). Look for a PhD program in 2 – 3 years.

Keep in mind, I have only worked with the IA (network security) staff - they are great. I cannot speak for the others.

Their course delivery is top notch, LIVE online learning. They were one of the first in the nation to provide courses in the fashion.

I highly recommend their security MS, now called Information Assurance.

    "LIVE" online learning

I have a conern regarding this "LIVE" learning:

The whole point of the DL notion for me is the ability to do my work whenever i get a chance to. But if CC employes a LIVE learning methodolgy (i.e., synchronous) complemented (as I've read) by a usual asyncrhonous techniques, then I'm guessing that student's of CC will be required to show up an online virtual classroom at specific times and dates. This may prove problamatic for me because I'm an international student and live in vastly different time zone.

    Re: "LIVE" online learning

You are correct it could pose a problem.
I have had classes with people living in England, Germany, India and Africa.

I feel the live classes really add to the learning potential and credibility of the program.

Too bad :( I was going to seriously consider it.

Besides that, any other DL schools come to mind? Maybe in software engineering as well?

Check out JoAnn Peeler's website at

    http://www.cise.ufl.edu/~jpeeler/topschools.html

She has listed a lot of schools there with MS in Comp Sci and other areas.
