I've already asked this before and got several good answers. I visited all websites people suggested and now I would like to know from where I could be better educated in computer science.
I think the following universities fulfill my requirements (full online program, no proctored exams because I live outsite USA):
    http://www.csuchico.edu/
    http://www.regisonline.org/
    http://www.umuc.edu/
    http://www.online.uillinois.edu/
Which one from those do you think is the best BS program in computer science?

Another question is that some of the above programs require previous General Education credits and I would like to know a good online college or university I could get them from.

    Thanks,

    Carlos.

Although Chico and UMUC are somewhat expensive, I think I can afford it.

I have nothing special about entrance exams, if it is needed I will take it.

And, as I said, I am looking for the best or one of the best online programs to learn computer science. I prefer one that will give me good knowledge on math and science.

Another thing is that, for those programs that only offer upper division courses online (Chico/Uilinois), I need suggestion on where I can get online General Education.

    Thanks,

    Carlos

If you can afford Chico then you can afford this:Florida State BSCS
    Very good program.

In your list I would take Regis over most of the rest personally. Good program, lots of math, and a good two class at a time format.

But Florida State BSCS have proctored exams, and I think it is difficult or almost impossible to take proctored exams outside USA.

    Thanks,

    Carlos.

LSU Independent study is a great source for general ed courses.

You should have stated that as part of your criteria for the "best" computer science program. Although in my opinion, having proctored exams lends credibility to the program. Its hard to be the best without a certain degree of credibility.

I have no doubt that the academically best DL programs in the USA for a BSCS are Florida State University, University of Illinois Springfield and Old Dominion University. You can probably throw California State Chico into that group as well but I don't know much about them.Without qualification, most people equate "best" with being the academic best.

BTW, taking proctored exams outside the USA is just as easy as inside the USA. One simply has to find a qualified individual (i.e. school librarian, school testing center administrator, college professor, etc) who will agree to proctor your exams. Each school has different requirements for proctors so you should look at one. However, if you are truly up to completing a BSCS, you are also up to doing the leg work to secure a proctor.

    Good luck,

Well...If you are looking for non--proctored Exam; you should choose either Troy University for Bachelor of Science in Applied Computer Science or Touro University International. Troy University does not require proctored exam for upper division courses, and Touro University International requires written essay/research instead examination.

You are absolutely right. Shame on me.
It took me just one phone call to find a local toefl test center proctor willing to help in my future proctored exams.
    Thanks.

But now I'd like some help about General Education and prerequisites.

Is there much difference in General Education courses from the following institutions?
    http://www.tesc.edu/
    http://www.lsu.edu/
    http://mercy.edu/
    http://www.troy.edu/
    http://ccconline.org/
    (any other suggestion?)

Where could I take good courses in Java Programming (2 semesters) and Discrete Math? Because they are prerequisites to U. Illinois Springfield BSCS program.

    Thankyou,

    Carlos.

Honestly, I would try to find the cheapest and most flexible program to complete your general education requirements. As others have mention, Louisiana State University and Brigham Young University both have economical courses that can be completed by distance learning. However, you can also deal directly with our junior or community colleges. Their tuition is often dirt cheap, and you can pursue an AA degree which helps to insure that you have all the requirements covered before transfering to a 2+2 program.

To get the courses when you need them, you can always take courses from the school that offers the right course at the right time for the right price. Since its not necessary to take all your courses from one institution, this will give you a lot of flexibility to complete the GE requirements. It sounds like you are doing your homework as far as making sure that you also satisfy the requirements of the CS department that you will eventually try to enter. As far as the schools you listed, I would keep all of them in mind and take courses that meet your needs. To keep you on track, I would suggest that you complete an AA degree to satisfy your GE reqs. While not required, this will keep you honest and will help to insure that you don't duplicate credit nor take the right courses.

    Good luck,
