    OIT IT

I really like this school. In fact I have taken most of my programming classes here in the past. However, I was originally looking to get a CS degree. But with this school offering an IT degree I am considering it. I was wondering how it compared to say WGU IT degree, or how it compares to a CIS degree?

What would be the disadvantage of going with an IT degree like this?

Unless you plan to be an UI CS academic, there' is nothing wrong with this program - and for most, IT has a broader applicability base than CS. However, the program is not 100% DL:

"Although most of the coursework for this major can be completed through online delivery, a handful of courses require students to complete on-site laboratory work in Portland or Klamath Falls. Out-of-area students may complete these requirements by transferring pre-approved courses from another college or university. "

I guess I am worried about short changing my future by not getting a CS degree.

And this is a decision that only you can make. Unless your goal is to be a college professor teaching programming - I would not lose any sleep over this.

Patton once mentioned one of the greatest obstacles to achievement as being "taking counsel of one's fears" - being paralyzed by doubt and taking NO course of action.

It is a very big misconception that Computer Science is a computer programming degree. That's like saying that Electrical Engineering is a math degree.

It's a very big misconception to summariaze what I said as "CS is a programming degree" - that is NOT what I said.
