Hi Stock, I am looking at UMUC dual degree MS E-Commerce and MBA. Does UMUC offer text book or is everything online? Can you brifely describe how their system works? Study online? Assignment and Exam? Thanks a lot. David
I suppose what we have to watchout for in an online MBA program are the programme core being offered in: •Financial Accounting •Marketing •Business Law •Economics •Management •Operations Research •Finance •Information Systems •Business Statistics These are the base courses. All programmes require levelling courses in these subjects. All courses are fashioned around these cores subjects/topics. People without a background in these courses will have to take the levelling courses. Can anybody elaborate on the effectiveness of such courses offered by different institutions. And their application in the work environment or how u can show your employer your education is going to help his business.
For what it's worth, Ashworth (DETC) is only $4899 including books until Feb 28 (when it goes up to $9k). Of course, this may not be your cup of tea...kind of the 'Walmart' approach towards MBAs. Nevertheless, if cost is an issue - it's worth considering. Greg
And, if you like to go spendy, Duke's Fuqua MBA can be earned via DL for the low, low price of about 90K to 100K, something like that.
