I am enrolled at Charter Oak State College's (COSC) Distance Learning Program, seeking a BS in Information Systems. I need to fill 2 requirements with online courses that COSC does not offer:

    1. Systems Analysis and Design
    2. Database Management and Design

I need a minimum of 3 credits of each, and at least one of the courses needs to include some sort of group project.

Can anyone recommend a good school that offers courses that fit these requirements?

Athabasca University offers a course in systems analysis and design (3 credit hours). The course does require a proctored final examination.

Thanks, Sentinel; that looks great. Now if I can find a database course that includes a group project, I'll be all set.

    CS-4440 Database Processing
CS-4447 Systems Analysis & design for Business

These are two courses that I have taken from Troy University (not sure how long these courses will be available. They are moving over to a different curriculum and will have similar classes i'm sure [just not the same names]).

I'm not even sure if you have enough time to enroll as a non-degree student for this term coming up (Jan 2nd to Mar 12th); however, you may want to give them a call.

    Hope this helps,
    Bill

I have challenged two Athabasca courses, COMP200 and COMP314. COMP200 required completing 3 small projects/assignments and a proctored exam. COMP314 required a 10 page essay and a proctored final.

The Athabasca exams are not simple. You will most likely have to do some studying. Don't expect a walk in the park.

I'm planning on challenging COMP347 in a couple months. I also have the CCNA as well as the networking essentials and TCP/IP Microsoft NT4 MCSE exams.
Let me know how it works out.

You might want to check first with COSC if they will accept COMP347 as UL credit.

    FYI

COMP307 Computer Networks from Athabascan can be tested out of and is accepted as upper level credit at COSC. They do require you to get the book for the project information. The book in this case is $109.00, but i have found it as cheap as $21.00 and pay $250 (Canadian) to test out.

How do you test out of the course? Does Athabasca offer a test as an alternative to the course, or do you mean something along the lines of a CLEP?
