Hi. First, I would like to thank everyone who have provided input involving various CLEP subjects. Unixman's posts on using cleps are very motivating. I am looking for any info on the Information Systems and Computer Applications clep exam, my background is in Information systems but throughout school & college, I am not a good test taker. In order to obtain a regionally accreditted degree, my studying habits must increase. Thanks in advance.
Wantolearn, I studied the pdf from CollegeBoard and took the exam. I'm in the IT field and found the exam fairly basic. I would however suggest that you do study something. I was a bit surprised by the number of questions about MS Office products. I had several questions about Excel and Access. Hope this helps. -John
I took this exam 5/19/05 and passed. Not one question from instacert.com practice exams was on the real exam. Clep'n is correct know how to do simple spreadhseet cell calcultaions I had 1 or 2. You should know office, it will help. Know basic databases concepts, basic networking. I didnt see any (C, PERL) coding questions I downloaded a clep guide for $29.95 from teaching solutions pro, absolutely worthless guide. If you're in IT should pass.
I passed this one a couple of months ago with no problem. If you have some IT experience, handle the usual Office windows applications it is easy. It included a couple of questions on programming logic too, but pretty easy.
