DSST MIS / CLEP Info sys , Duplicate Credit?

DSST MIS / CLEP Info sys , Would these be considered duplicate Credit?

What other DSST/Clep exams conflict like this if any?

It depends on the school (you don't mention which one) but for Excelsior College these don't overlap. In the Business program the MIS exam gives upper-level credit while the CLEP Info Sys lower. They really don't have that much overlap.

Thanks for clearing that up. I have both the MIS / IS exams tomorrow. I'm going for ECE CS BS.

I just got my official eval from COSC and they have treated the CLEP Information Systems and Computer Applications as duplicate credit. I haven't managed to speak to an advisor yet but the only other computer credit on my eval is DANTES MIS.

 

Like someone else mentioned EC, with EC these won't overlap.

 

These two are more likely to be duplicate credit - both are intro computing exams.

Not to beat a dead horse. Excelsior took both (when I went through) and they that did not overlap.

 

They accepted both for me as well (got 9 computing credits between these 2 and the MIS exam) but they're pushing back now - the only reason I got it allowed was it was initially approved as part of my degree plan back in '03.
