TESC BSBA-CIS vs Excelsior BS/CIS?

Opinions on which is better than the other?
I see that the Excelsior degree accepts IT certifications for some credit and requires discrete math and statistics.
TESC requires College Algebra AND Trigonometry and statistics and also requires 6 units of English composition where Excelsior only requires 3 units of English composition.
This makes it look like Excelsior's degree could be completed in a more timely fashion which is a big advantage.
Thomas Edision State College sounds and looks better on a resume compared to the cheesy-sounding "Excelsior College" and Thomas Edision's degree woud most likely meet most of the requirements for entry into most MBA programs, whereas I would need to take bridge courses after the Excelsior BS/CIS.
Anything else about these two colleges that would make one program more attractive than the other?

One thing to keep in mind is that Excelsior seems to be changing their program from CIS to "Information Technology" with 6 or 7 various concentrations.

If you're interested inthe CIS program you have to sign up by the end of this month.

The CIS program at Excelsior is available for a few more days.
I submitted an application for the CIS program along with the $65 application fee. I haven't paid an enrollment fee yet, so there is still a chance I may change to TESC. I'm having second thoughts on enrolling in Excelsior due to the cheesy name that may look like a degree mill on resumes.

I just noticed that Thomas Edison allows Visual Basic and HTML (which I plan to take) as programming languages towards core credit, where Excelsior seems to only allow them for elective credit.

So, so far, I see TESC requires 2 English comp courses compared to only one for Excelsior. TESC requires Precalculus with trigonometry (wich has more prerequisites or may be 2 separate courses) where Excelsior instead requires Discrete Math, TESC gives core credit for Visual Basic and HTML, but Excelsior gives credit for many IT certifications.

Since I will have a lot of IT certification credit this year, Excelsior seems like it may be faster, but TESC has a better name and their program will fullfil more of the admission requirements into MBA programs.

I should have about 50 transferrable credits into either program and I need to complete the remaining requirents in less than a year. I think Excelsior BS/CIS is more attainable in that time frame than the TESC BSBA with the CIS concentration.

Has anyone checked out both programs in detail and found one better than the other?

Hi, My field is not IT. The opportunity to take FEMA EMI and fill up your free elective area may make TESC more attractive. You can do a search for more info on FEMA EMI INDEPENDENT STUDY on the site. There was a recent post that included what TESC accepted from the list and the additional two one credit USFA courses. Have a good day. If you need any specific info on how to handle problems involving TESC I will be glad to assist you. Hille

    Re: Opinion

I'll look into FEMA, but I don't think I will need any more free elective credits, so they may not be useful.
I'm more concerned about completing the core major requirements, math requirements and general arts an sciences graduation requirements of either school in less than a year.
