Anyone see this? Looks very cool. They are not an accredited school by any means, but Excelsior and other colleges will accept their some of their courses for credit.

And the courses are cheap too! $90 - $120 per course!

Very tempted to take their C++ course.

If you wanted to go into game design it seems like a high stress job....... all those companies letting people go even after they make a very successful game. That would suck big time and make me feel very unapreciated. I dont know.

If you just want to take some courses there, if they count for credit why not?

Don't know about the industry, but if you need an upper division course
for any computer program, it seems to be a cheap option.

Excelsior awards 4 credits for their C++ course. Compare $125 per credit (I think that's about average at most online schools) vs. $90 for the course, and that seems like a good deal to me.

Thanks for the post about www.GameInstitute.com. Their offerings seem economical, rather interesting (and in some cases unique), and more accommodating to the harried schedules of adult learners than courses from many colleges. If their courses are well done, MIT may need to watch out. Or possibly not. <g>

    Cordially,
