    What is the difference between

    MSIT ( Master of Science in Information Technology)

    MSIM ( Master of Science in Information Management) and

    MBA(Information Management)?

    Are there significant differences between them to warrant different titles?

    What is the difference in real world?

    thanks

    I don't know that you will get a consensus, so you can use google and search:

    define: xxxxxxxxx

    But for the sake of a discussion;

    IT is overarching, IM is a subset of IT and the MBA-IM would be a business approach with a varying number of IM classes making it business with a technical approach and loosely related to the other two. Depending on where you want to end up these degrees can have distinctly different benefits. Many MBA programs have technical approaches and IT programs can have business approaches.

    To add to the confusion different schools have different program emphasis despite having degrees with the same titles.

    As for the difference in the real world I have seen folks with any combination of these degrees and others in every level of technology or business.

    If you search the forum you will see that a discussion on CS, CIS, MIS, IT, etc...that detailed a good bit of information.
