If anyone went to this school, what was their education like when it came to Computer science and IT classes.

please explain in slight detail the kind of programming, networking, and other IT learning that was acquired.

    Thanks!

    Firstmode,

Since you're new here's some advice: utilize the search option before posting anything. So much has been covered on this forum it takes something truly unique to generate replies (most of the time).

AIU, which I'm presuming to be American Intercontiental University, has been discussed in much detail on this forum so you'll find probably more than you care to read about. Some news is good and some bad. That's with any school. Read the old posts, make a list of the pros & cons, and decide if it really will fit your needs. If you need/want some additional help, send me a PM anytime and I'll help as much as I can.

    Take care,

    'Nova

I got my bachelors from AIU and am presently purusing a Masters from AIU. If you have specific questions I'd be happy to try and answer them.

How much did your Bachelors degree cost?

How much do your graduate-level credits cost?

How Technical were the IT classes? Were they more based on IT management and IT techniques, or were they hardcore SQL and C# programming classes and lots of Networking and Hardware study?

The classes were primarily IT based. There was one class on strategic management, and one that included bits on team work but most of the course focused on visual basic, sql, and networking. (AIU now offers other specializations so your program might not match quite what mine did).

However I don't think the word hardcore applies. AIU tries to design it's programs so that people switching careers will succeed so in the bachelors program there tends to be a lot of introductory survey type stuff and not as much in depth programming. The masters degree seems to take on more breadth and depth.

On the whole I have really enjoyed the program and it has worked well for my needs.

My bachelors degree cost $27,000.00 but I didn't have to pay any of that. I had 100% tuition reimbursement.

The company has changed its policy and now only pays $5,000 a year so my masters is going to cost me around $25,000.00. I know there are cheaper schools but I am already familiar with the AIU setup and it's extremely convenient for me so I elected to stay with them.
