    Hi guys,

Currently I am pursuing Masters degree in IS (MIS) from USQ. I have about 9 years of IS/IT experience and want to become a project manager in future.

Now my question is which track should I take, Continue with MIS or transfer all the credits to Master of Project Management(Transdisciplinary) degree?

I am more interested in MMTS because I have to take only 8 units (MIS = 12units). I would also like to know what Transdisciplinary degree means and how it is viewed in United States.

    Thanks in advance.

I would stay with the MIS since it has more utility. Acquiring a PMP certification will carry significant weight towards your project manager goals without a degree and in fact may be needed regardless of degree. The only exceptions I would make would be if you intend to teach project management or if you will be in charge of a project management office then the masters in project management may be of some direct benefit. The MIS is a nice addition. You can also pick up a PM graduate certificate at several universities (Amberton is the lowest price I have seen)).
