I am considering returning to school (DL) to work on a MS in information technology. Capella has a course track in Information Security that looks intriguing.

I am looking for feedback (good and bad) regarding Capella in general. There are so many DL offerings it is enough to make ones head spin.

I currently hold a BA in Business from a brick and mortar school and have worked in various computer related fields for the last 15+ years.

    Thanks,

    Jon,

I think I have looked at about every IS or IT related DL degree the last year. The two that I though had the best utility are from Marist: http://www.marist.edu/gce/graduate/compsci.html

    and Capitol:

I also like the Florida Tech offerings:

I think Capella is fine, but for upward mobility the first two programs would better prepare you and both schools hold additional accreditation.

Nova Southeastern University also has some nice offerings.

I believe that several folks on the forum are attending different schools in the program you are interested.

    Good luck,

Avoid Capella University - take a look at Capella University Sucks

to find out some of the problems with their "School of Technology." If you want to spend $1,600 per class for a course room that doesn't work, Capella's the place to be. You should also know that large numbers of students in the School of Technology have complained about all of the problems, only to be ignored by Capella's administration. Many students have also dropped out because of the problems.

    Good Luck.
