Hello again all, I was just curious if anyone had any idea as to how much my certifications are worth point-wise towards a degree? Are they added and measured separately or is their a maximum point value, regardless of how many I have? I have been interested in Excelsior College, though my certifications may take me furthur elsewhere??? As always, please input as other opinions are appreciated. Thanks..........

78 Undergraduate credits from an accredited CUNY University
    MCSE WINDOWS 2000
    MCDBA WINDOWS 2000
    COMPTIA N+
    COMPTIA A+

What's my quickest path to my undergratuate degree???

THIS LIST IS GREAT!!!!! Anyway my certifications plus previous credits are totaling about 90 credits. I'm stil about 30+ shy of a degree. What types of exams(GRE, CLEP) could be the shortest combination to complete graduation?

If you are sure that you want to go with Excelsior then why dont you enrol with them with all the credits. They will work out a plan and let you know what exams to take further to complete the program.

    The Cat,

They have a chart for CLEPs, DSST's, and ECE's that state how many credits and what catagory they fall into. Take a look at that (bottom of the publications list: A guide to credit by exam.. or something to that extent). Then, compare it with the 90 credits you have and the curriculum for the BSCIS in the Technology Catalog. For example, if you need 6 credits in humanities still, take the Analyzing and Intrepeting Literature CLEP (really easy 6 humanity credits for Excelsiors degree programs).

    Hope this helps,
    Bill

    Careful..

your 90 credits for the MCSE and 78 from transfer may not add up to a BA. You still have to meet the required classes for the degree. You sound like you are well on your way there but so many people get disappointed when they discover they still have to take some classes even though they have more than the required credits for a bachelors degree. The end is worth the effort though. Submit EVERYTHING and get your evaluation and you will know where you stand. CLEP is great as well. Good luck and welcome to distance learning.
