Hello all!!!! I'm new to this forum so bear with me as I have been out of school for a while. My question is this; I have 76 Credits achieved at Queens College (CUNY) which is an accredited University. I also have my MCSE, MCDBA, N+, A+ and Citrix CCA Certifications. I have not completed my Bachelor's Degree and am planning to do this now. I have been noticing Excelsior College offers credit for both my previous college credits as well as my IT Certifications. I estimate my degree path being somewhere in the range of 10-20 credits to graduate if they count these past credits and experience. How do my chances sound? Do you think I am in a good position to graduate easily with very few credits or do they pull out technicalities as to why you can't use the credit. Also what is the price per credit at Excelsior's Undergraduate Program. As a note, If anyone has a better suggestion as to how I would do this and achieve the best and easiest path, please write back. Thanks all!!!!

You may want to also try Empire State College. It's RA with a liberal arts program where all of your earned work should be counted, including some life experience. Undergraduate tuition is $181 per hour...very reasonable in my opinion. Hope this helps.

I suggest go with Excelsior if you want a computer degree. They dont charge per credit. All you pay is initial fees, yearly fees and then graduation fees.

If you require a computer degree, I agree. Go with Excelsior. If not, I still suggest Empire.

again I say "thanks"!!! These college decisions are harder today than when I went to school initially. Most of these online universities didn't exist and the flexibility with accepting credits has improved 10 fold!!!! When I started school, transfering to another was something you didn't want to do because most schools wouldn't accept the credit and in the end, you would lose half of them just in the transfer process. I guess these colleges realized that most people are not receiving tuition reimbursement and parents can no longer afford school due to tuition. By making their admission standards more humane, they have opened doors for themselves.

My interest in finishing college is due to these newer options available today. Back when I stopped going to college, my school was rated very well and yet I found the curriculum boring and hated traveling to class as I had much on my plate. Transfering out was not an option as my credits were not so "transferable" back then as I said earlier. With distance learning and accetance of my IT certifications as credit towards a degree, I may be able to actually finish!!!!!! Thanks again for all your help all, The CAT

You may want to look at Charter Oak State College . They worked very well for me. I had credits from teh Army, MCSE, MCSA, MCP+I, A+, and other credits. I finished in my BS in about 4 months.
