I am curious if anyone here has experience with Park University 's BS in Management/Computer Information Systems? I am a 13 year IT Professional who has been a couple of classes short of an AAS in Computer Drafting Technology (which I will never use.) I want to earn an IT degree (not a computer programming degree) from a RA school in the shortest amount of time possible. I plan to continue to work as an IT Manager for business so the deepest programming I do is VB / SQL / Web / Intranet. I deal with budgets, WANs, routers, MRP/ERP, and various software packages. I will not attend UofP due to the rep they seem to have. I feel Park University, Bellevue, Excelsior, Touro, Thomas Edison, Indiana Wesleyan and Charter Oaks would all help me meet my goal. For some reason, I really like what I have read at Park's website. They have 8 week courses that cost $184 per credit hour and they are an RA school which means I can continue my education after receiving my degree from Park. Is there anyone who can give me some feedback on this. I want to feel comfortable with the decision I make.

    Thanks for any feedback,

    adrianq

Nothing wrong with Park. If the format, program, and reasonable cost spike your interest then go for it.
    :) Overall, a sound program.

Other than Park University, does anyone here have experience with the BS BIS from Bellevue, the BS BIS from Indiana Wesleyan or the BS ITM from Touro? I would love to hear your experiences and opinions.

    Thanks,

    Adrian,

You seem to have a ton of experience, where you would only need to test out of many subjects. You can also try Western Governors University. They have both a BS/CIS program and BS/IT Management. I have over 10 years of IT experience (programming, network, PM, etc...) and the BS/CIS at WGU was a perfect fit.

    Best of luck,
    DS

how much does WGU BSCIS costs ? do they charge yearly fees ? and are any exams included in that fees ? how much cost and time would it take if someone with 60 credits would join their program.

    Thanks.

    etech,

I don't know much about the current tuition structure because I joined WGU before they had implemented it. I believe the tuition at WGU is around $2400 per term and a school year has two terms. The tuition includes all costs for exams, study material and required classes.
I paid a flat fee for the entire program, but I would have had to pay extra for any classes or study materials. Luckily, I was proficient enough in the subject matter where I only needed to purchase a few books to pass the required assessments.
WGU does not care how many credits you have. You will be evaluated based on your competency. Theoretically, you could pass all the assessments in one term.

Thanks for the tip everyone. I have continued my search and decided on Indiana Wesleyan University's BS in Business Information Systems. It will take me two years to complete the degree. It looks like a very good program and a solid school. As far as classes go, the required number of classes was similar to Touro. But IWU lets you take one class at a time. (i really like that) Both IWU and Touro require more than Bellevue. If you just want a quick degree, Bellevue is a good way to go. I'm actually interested in trying to learn something in the 'business' aspect of the program. I feel good about this school.

    Thanks everyone,

    Adrianq
