I went to the website and it spells out the requirements of

    24 technology core units
    Must include:

    Intro to computers
    Computer architecture or assembly language
    High-level structured language
    Database concepts
    Data structures
    Data communications
    Operating systems
    Systems analysis & Design

and 21 CIS elective units (that could be met meet by taking Microsoft and Comptia exams).
In addition to this, you must complete the general education requirements and the math requirements of discrete mathematics plus either calculus or statistics.

Of the 45 units, 15 must be upper division.
In another section it lists Excelsior, ICCP and Ohio University IT examinations. Each exam lists semester hours given and whether they are upper or lower-level credit.

HOWEVER, they do not go on to list which exam will meet each technology core requirement. There are a few that look logical, but nothing is mapped out, and I would rather know for sure rather than make guesses. There must be someone here that has already completed or is in progres of completing this program and knows for sure.

    Also the link they provide:
    http://www1.excelsior.edu/itweb/credexam.htm
lists the available exams providing upper divsion technology core credit as only:
    Data Resource Management 3 UL
    Communications 3 UL
    and
    Systems Development 3 UL

They are all ICCP exams and total 9 units. That leaves 6 of the required 15 UL units unaccounted for. How do you complete the remaining 6 units based on these exams? Is the web page missing some exams needed to complete the requirements?

Does anyone have a list of which exams they are sure meet each requirement or is there another link somewhere else that clarifies how to complete the technology core requirements via exams?

I already asked this on this forum but never got any specific response. I wanted to know which exams should I take that will satisfy Excelsior's requirements, specially Gen Ed. I still dont know which ones. Excelsior would not give you any idea unless you register and thats what I dont want to do at this time. anyway here is my earlier post.

Let me know if you get any sepcific reply so I can take the courses needed.

    Thanks.

I had done a search and saw that thread. There were some replies that gave guesses, but no reply from anyone who had enrolled in the school or found a definitive answer from another source.

I think the bain4weeks web site covers tests available for GE requirements.
I am more concerned about clarification on fullfilling the technology core requirements via exams.

I guess for now you would just have to guess and go for the exams which looks closer and you think would meet the requirement unless someone exactly knows which ones to go for. Alternatively you should register for the program.

That looks good, but what about the Data Structures requirement and also meeting the 15 credits of upper level Technology Core requirements?

Intro to Computers - Dantes: Introduction to Computing
    Computer Architecture - Ohio U: ETCH236A: Microprocessors
High Level Structured Language - ICCP C, C++, COBOL, Pascal, or Procedural Programming
Database Concepts - ICCP: Data Resource Management
    Data Communications - ICCP: Communications
Operating Systems - ICCP: Systems Programming
Systems Analysis and Design - ICCP: Systems Development

There are others that map to the core requirements, but this is what Excelsior will probably tell you.
