I have been working in the IS field for a number of years and lucky to be the Manager of Information Systems for a large Museum in Atlanta, Georgia. I know to move on I need to finish my BS. I have decided to go to Law School when I finish my BS, but now that I have grown up and know what I want to do, I want my BS yesterday. I have the following credits so far: BIOL 201 with Lab CS 101 ENGL 110 PE (Tennis) HIST 210 POLS 210 PSYC 1101 For a total of 28 semester hours Then I have the following CIS 106 Computer Concepts CIS 103 OS Concepts CIS 1140 Networkign Fundamentals SCT 100 Intro to Microcomputers CIS 122 Microcomputers Install and Maint CIS 2149 Implementing MS Windows 2000 Pro CIS 2150 Implementing MS Windows 2000 Server For a total of 49 quarter hours I'm taking the following classes this quarter for a total of 18 more quarter hours MAT 103 Alegebraic Concepts EMP 100 Interpersonal Relations and Professional Development CIS 2191 Internet Business Fundamentals CIS 2201 HTML Fundamentals After this quarter is finished I will need the following classes for a A.A.S in Computer Information Systems CIS 2161 SQL Programming CIS 2153 Implementing MS Windows 2000 Networking Infrastructure CIS 2154 Implementing MS Windows 2000 Network Directory Services COMM 1100 Human Communication MATH 1111 College Algebra ECON 2105 or 2106 Maco/Micro economics BUSA Intro. to Business In addition, I have 8 years in US Navy and a number of electronic and radar schools and have passed all the core test for MCSE 4.0 And plan on finishing my MCSE for 2000 pay the end of the year. So my main question who has the best BS for IT or MIT that is a accredited school? TIA Rob
Excelsior College works well for most people. www.excelsior.edu The good thing I like about them is that they give credits for MS and other Professional certifications.
You could alway try AIU 13 months and your done ! that not very long at all . http://www.aiu-online.com and you even have a campus near by its at least worth checking out !
Take a look at Touro's BS ITM program. http://www.tourou.edu/cis/bsitm.htm All Touro University International materials are on the Internet or CD's you receive. Thus, you will not need to purchase any textbooks.
