    Hello all,

    I was wonderingwhat criterea are trade schools looking for there employees? What experince do you need to get a job as a professor at a school like ITT or devry etc ? I will soon complete my bit degree and I will have 3 years experience in help desk. will this be enough to be a genreal education professor? I was also wondering has anyone taken the certification to get lincesesd to teach for your state ? I am really looking to teach at a small tech school I think I will be mor e effective there!

    In my opinion (I could be wrong) you need a Master Degree in your relevant field to teach as a professor.

    maybe others can comment.

    I think you need just a bachelors for vocational type topics (like basic electronics, autocad, etc.) like you would learn at ITT.

    DeVry requires a Masters, check their website. I am not sure about ITT.

    When I wanted teaching experience, I applied to a local computer school that had 9 month certificates in computer networking. I was hired as a sub (that is all I wanted since I have a full time job). They were more interested in my certification - MCSE, MCP+Internet, MCSA, N+, A+.

    Check with some really small schools and offer to be a teacher-aide for free to get a couple of weeks experience.
