I'm taking the American Government CLEP this coming weekend. I'm wondering if anyone has taken this recently and can give some pointers on areas of study to brush up on? I'm especially interested in knowing if there were many questions that required knowledge of which court cases applied to which laws? Thanks!

I would make sure that you brush up on the constitution, there are quite a few questions concerning recall and application of the original documents and amendments.
Also, there are a few court cases with some superficial questions about them. Brown v. Board of Education, Dred Scott, Plessy v. Ferguson, and a couple more that I can't remember right now all had questions concerning the decisions and the relevant issues.
Lastly, you obviously need to know the mechanics of how the government works.

    Good luck,
    Tony
