Hi, i'm looking to do a Bachelors degree in engineering online preferably arizona online university. My question is if i do 2 years online would it be possible for me to transfer to a brick and mortar school for the remainder of the 2 years?? I saw someone comment saying one can do the credits from CS(California State Uni, though not ABET accredited) and transfer to a normal engineering school. Just wanted to confirm this and i'm looking to take this route if it would be possible. Any help would be appreciated. :banghead:
That's probably too general a question as acceptance will vary by school. You want a sheepskin with an ABET crest? Good luck.
thanks for the reply, did not get what you exactly meant with your second statement am not from the US....
ABET accredited schools will usually have stricter acceptance standards than schools without ABET accreditation. Aside from that, each school will have its own standards for which credits/courses it will accept from other schools or non-school sources.
I'll state my answer a bit differently although I'm essentially agreeing with decimon. Yes, it is possible but it may not work at every school. Check carefully before proceeding.
Are you thinking about transferring online engineering courses from a non-ABET school or just general education courses? People transfer general education and prerequisite credits from community colleges all the time.
thanks for the reply guys, i was thinking of transferring the engineering credits which i would take online in this instance from ASU to a normal brick and mortar school. I have asked the ASU about this and they have told me that is a later issue but i want to know it before i get started as i don't want to waste my time and money if eventually i can't do what i wanted at the first place
