Hello, thank you for reading this. I have been doing much reading of this forum and other places and am still a little confused. I would really appreciate any direction/guidance any of you can give as I am now educated on the process but just can't figure out the right path.

I am 37, father of two and have been at the same company for almost 20 years and transferred into sales manager role a couple years ago. They recently offered me a very great opportunity almost double the salary but had to retract the offer due to not having a bachelors. They have informed me that if I get a bachelors, no matter what kind, the offer stands but I need a bachelors for legal reasons due to the industry.

I have researched the big 3, testing out via clep, DSST, etc and am willing to dedicate whatever time, effort is needed to accomplish this and am definite on testing out.

    Questions:
I am finding it difficult to determine which cleps equal to gen education requirements or how to overall meet those requirements through all options???

which degree in which field is easiest to test out and get? They have told me it doesn't matter what field my degree is in.

Does COSC still accept FEMA credits and if so should I try for them or which of the big 3 degree tracks should I go with?

I have read sanantone's wiki's and they have helped immensly but I am still a little confused.

I will be forever grateful for any guidance, please and thank you!!!

I am pretty new here as well and still working out quite a few of these issues myself.

COSC does accept FEMA credits but also requires a capstone and cornerstone course

TESC in liberal arts (I believe) can be tested out of entirely without a capstone.

Once you decide what school and major you want, you can look at the requirements and put together a degree plan.

Here is a sample BSBA plan from COSC
I am planning on something similar COSC Degree Plans - Degree Forum Wiki

    Good luck!

I'm sure you'll get some good advice about specific tests, etc. but my advice is, don't wait. If you have no credits at all then there are some tests that you can start on that will almost universally apply to any degree. As to choosing a degree, if it doesn't matter then it doesn't matter. Choosing a Liberal Arts degree or a Business degree. The former is more versatile and the latter is more relevant to your work. Flip a coin.

Thank you so much. I have actually just scheduled the introductory to sociology and analyzing and interpreting literature clep figuring both would be universal and a good confidence booster to start.

This website has been amazing and it just feels like trying to find the Path is difficult. Again, thank you for any guidance and to everyone that helps out on this forum!!!

I can't help you with COSC general education requirements (my guides are for TESC), but COSC does still accept FEMA credits.

For CLEP, the College Composition exam (6 credits) will fit in to replace Freshman Composition I & II at any of the Big 3. Other CLEP exams that will fulfill requirements or electives for most programs include American Government, Intro Psychology, Intro Sociology, History of the United States I & II, and Humanities,

Have you thought about what major you'd like, or do you just want the fastest and cheapest accredited option?

Excelsior does not accept CLEP for English Comp II. Also, TESC's liberal studies degree requires a capstone. Technically, all of TESC's bachelor's degrees require a capstone, but you can test out of or transfer in the Strategic Management capstone for the BSBA programs.

Thank you so much, this is great info that I was looking for to get me going and just get me a jumping off point. The original major I was going to go with was Business Admin but then found out I didnt need a BS and could go with a BA. Honestly, at this point I would like it to be somewhat relevant but still easier in terms of completion and speed.

Thank you Sanantone. I still havent decided which of the Big 3 and I keep jumping back to TESC. I was thinking COSC if the FEMA credits could really help speed up the process. I saw the capstone requirements and am okay with that no problem. I am just happy there is an option that doesnt take 4 years and $$$$$.

What do you feel would be the easiest degree to get from TESC in terms of speed and ease? Would the FEMA credits if I went with COSC really speed up the process?
