I called Aleks this morning, and they are in the process of getting ACE approval restored. Everybody should relax. I think they should be back in the swing of things by the end of the month.

HEED MY WARNING!!! Don't use older material to study for CLEP, etc., exams I had to learn this the hard way 2 days ago. I took the Western Civilization CLEP and barely passed with a 50. My study guide from the college board is from 2010, and my actual REA study book was copy written in 2006. I thought that was not old. Well it was! They update and change those tests. I looked at some more recent study guides, and books that were the same as those I currently have. There are many significant differences in the content. I won't be a cheap skate next time, and I'll buy new and current material. Getting a 50 on a CLEP is cutting it as close as a person can get.

Date isn't nearly as important as content. I used (still use) old second hand books. You simply need to visit the College Board website to get the most up to date breakdown of topics, and be sure to match your study. That may or may not mean using a single source, but if everything you need isn't in one book, let Google be your friend. Congrats on the pass.

I got all of my printed study materials from the library. Most of my books were from before 2000. One of my books was from the 1950s! More than anything, I think it's important to have multiple study materials. Not that you should spend dozens of hours in each source. My strategy was to watch some videos on youtube, check out the study material from free-clep-prep.com and make my own outline based upon the exam outline and a textbook or two that I can find from my library.

I'll keep your comments in mind. I am too lazy to go through numerous study materials. I will use 2-3 at the max. I have taken 5 CLEPS and passed all of them so far. I am going to take 1 more CLEP, or a free NCRRS course that is good for college credit. I'm looking at the Western Political Thought and Philosophy course given by saylor.org. It is free, and all the necessary materials are included in the course, etc.
