So i have just completed Beginner Algebra in 10hours 20 minutes and am ready to move onto intermediate algebra when i realized that i wasn't sure as to whether or not aleks stored the results.

Do i send an ACE transcript request every time i complete a subject or can i use master tool to switch to the next subject and just send one master transcript request to get the credits for all my subjects in the End.

By the way i did Beginner Algebra mostly cos i needed to get back to the basics and brush up on my maths but should i bother with intermediate Algebra or go straight to College Algebra and work my way to 70% there instead. Reason for asking i doubt Intermediate and Beginner would be granted college credits as the former will be a duplicate to college and the latter is considered remedial.

In regards to ACE does Ace charge each time for a transcript request or is there only one charge of $40 in the beginning

Open up an ACE transcript account and request to have the ALEKS course added to the transcript every time you complete one. This is free. If you change courses before it's on the ACE transcript, the results will be lost forever. It usually only takes 1 to 3 business days for it to be added. Once you have all of the credits you plan to take on the ACE transcript, then you can order a copy to be sent to a school. It's $40 for the first transcript, and $15 for each transcript thereafter. I don't know which school you're attending, but TESC doesn't accept Beginning Algebra. It's considered developmental (remedial). I'm not sure about COSC and EC.

    Thanks sanantone.

Right then i think i will just move onto College Algebra directly rather than bother to get beginner Algebra transcribed as i don't think any college accepts it as credit.

Not sure about the status of Intermediate algebra though is that considered remedial or a general elective. Does taking College Algebra invalidate the usability of Intermediate Algebra as an elective

Also what about Intro to Stat and Bus Stat? are they mutually exclusive from each other?

Hmm from past threads it would seem that some actually take in Beginner Algebra as gen elective. So it looks like i will be waiting till i get the approval

Right here's an update..i just received an email from Sandra Ferguson at ALEKS support and she said i could move on to the next subject as the scores were stored in their database so i could do all the subjects and then send an ACE transcript request for all the subjects at one go..

On the other hand when i tried to switch courses i got this message... LOL

Warning: Changing the ALEKS course will delete all information for the current course, (e.g. reports, quizzes, tests, grades etc). We recommend printing your reports before taking this action.

It's safer to just wait, and it doesn't take long. That's the way everyone else does it. I earned credits for Intermediate Algebra and College Algebra. Like I said, I don't know if EC or COSC accept Beginning Algebra, but TESC does not. Also at TESC, all of the stats courses duplicate each other. This might be different at the other two schools.

thanks sanantone. ALEKS support emailed me again saying there was no need to wait as the warning is just a message. the details were still in their database. Apparently if we get back on Master and switch back to original class then the results will be shown as usual. I might as well experiment since its only beginner algebra i will be tweaking.

Well that experiment worked out well.. you can switch classes and ACE does go ahead and transcript but it doesn't take longer than a couple of hours so no big deal there.

The scoring system is a little strange though.. i took 10 hrs on Intro to Algebra (34% on first assessment) and 10 hours on Intermediate Algebra(54% on first assessment)

when i did College algebra i answered 5 of them with "I don't know" 3 graph circles and 2 graph ellipse questions but closed out the initial assessment with a 74%. so i got that transcribed with ACE and have now moved on to Intro to statistics.

After i do Intro to stat i plan on bus stat..

should i also do stat for behavorial science and pre-calculus

If my first choice plans dont work i will likely head to Excelsior and am curious as to whether or not excelsior will take the stats as individual subjects or duplicate credits. Is pre-calculus recommended/needed/desired?

quick question i sent an email to Upper Iowa asking them for their policy on ALEKS Intro to Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, Intro To statistics and Business Statistics and ended up with this reply.

ALEKS is a Math placement test- there are no credits granted for the testing…

Does that mean they dont give credit for Aleks? Are unaware of Aleks as credit? or just use ALEKS for math placement only?

never mind i resent my query and as it turned out the admission officer was unaware that were ACE approved. Officer said that ACE courses would follow ACE recommendation.
