Ok, I've been a member of this board, but don't post much. Its only this year that I am taking earning a degree seriously. What I would like to do is earn the Organizational Leadership degree from TESC. I understand that FEMA credits and 100 level CLEPs can knock out two years of general courses fairly easily. Here are the class requirements for that degree: Thomas Edison State College: Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership

Ok, what CLEP courses will fit into the upper level courses? Is there a document out there on the web that states this? Or would Straighterline courses with similar names cut it? From what I remember a couple of years ago, TESC suggested that I take all of the CLEPs and then enroll in the college.

Despite TESC 3k enrollment fee, I would like to earn a degree there...but I honestly want to test out of every credit if I possibly can. Im open to earning a Business or General Management degree if testing out would be easier...I'm even open to enrolling in Excelsior.

Does anyone that has had experience in this track have any suggestions? I feel really dumb that I don't understand this... :(

It would be much easier to test out of the BSBA in General Management. There are only a few tests that can be used for the organizational leadership area of study (foundations, area of specialization, and leadership electives). The BSBA has more utility anyway. I believe the BSBA in General Management at TESC is the only program left out of all of the Big 3 schools that does not require traditional courses to be taken at the school or elsewhere and/or a capstone to be taken with the school. This means that you can complete the whole degree using TECEPs, DSSTs, CLEPS, Straighterline courses, ALEKS, ECEs and/or Uexcel. Ohio University exams and ACE-approved Penn Foster courses are other options.

Every degree program at Excelsior requires a capstone to be taken with Excelsior. Every degree program at Charter Oak State College requires a cornerstone and capstone to be taken with COSC. TESC only has a few programs left that do not require a capstone. The BSBA programs have a business policy capstone but you can test out of it by taking the Strategic Management TECEP or you can transfer in a similar course like the one offered at Penn Foster. If you would like more information, send me a pm for a 100% test out/Straighterline plan.

Thank you for the reply, Sanantone. I tried to PM, it seems like I don't have the proper permissions.

Is there anyone else that has recently gone through the process? Should I take all my tests before even enrolling?

Sanantone nailed it, yes take most of your credit by exam before enrolling. Once your sure you have less than a year left its good to stRt thinking about enrolling....that will get you done with the least expense
