    My daughter passed the DSST Personal Finance Exam today. Her test prep consisted of:

    1. Completing the Ed2Go Personal Finance Course

    2. Taking the DSST Practice Exam (she scored high enough to pass)

    3. Studying materials she missed on the practice exam using Wikipedia

    4. Passing Exam.

    congrats Shawn!

    curious:
    i used to be a Certfiied Financial Planner (CFP) - "used to be" = although still in the industry, i didn't want to continue to pay the ~$400/year fee to use the designation;
    will that be enough to pass the exam you think?
    reason why i ask is i've read elsewhere that it was a rather difficult exam.

    thanks!

    Based on reading your post, are you confusing DSST - Personal Finance with DSST - Principles of Finance?

    I'd probably end up taking both, but since I've got the CFP, I thought the Personal Finance course would be right up my alley.

    I imagine Personal Finance would be more trust, mortgages, family law, financial planning vs. Principles of Finance which would be more financial accounting, reports, corporate finance?

    The sample exam makes this test look easy as long as you have some experience in the various areas.

    lostand found, someone with your background will have no difficulties whatsoever with the Personal Finance DSST.
