I have begun studying for the English Composition CLEP test. I see where 15% of the test deals with the ability to use and reference resource materials.

Does anyone have a recommendation for study materials for this aspect of the test? I have the REA book, but it doesn't seem to cover that. Should I get the latest version of the Turbian style guide and read the pertinent sections? Or is there something better?

    Thanks in advance,

I took the English Comp with Essay exam cold with zero preparation and passed. I used it for my English comp requirement at Excelsior, but be warned that some colleges (now including Excelsior) don't except CLEP English composition.

When I took it it was a pen and paper test - I outlined my essay on the first page of the workbook - jotted down all the relevant or key points - grouped them - then used it to write my essay starting on the second page of the workbook.

I have already confirmed that TESC will award 6 credits for passing the the English Comp or Freshman College Comp. I just hope that is still the case a year from now when I enroll. I know that CLEP is replacing its English comp tests in July.
