Has anyone else had trouble getting ETS to send GRE scores to Charter Oak State College? They have refused, continually, saying that COSC is not an "approved recipient." What is up with that? How are you supposed to get scores to them?!

Has anyone else had their GRE scores sent to Charter Oak, in recent months?

Have you spoken with your academic advisor? What did they say about it?

Just my guess but maybe COSC is not an approved recipient because they do not offer graduate degrees.

The ETS publication "2008-09 GRE Institution Codes and Fellowship Sponsors" lists "Charter Oak State Coll" on page 15, with Institution Code 3292.

At the top of the same page, it says "The institutions and fellowship sponsors listed below are approved to receive GRE scores."

So as of 2008-09, COSC was listed by ETS itself as an approved GRE recipient. If you haven't already, you might try specifying COSC by number ("Institution Code 3292"), rather than by name.

I'd love to know when you find out. I had my GRE Literature score sent to the code just listed in the previous post. I filled out the score request online and paid for the service. My money was refunded a few weeks later from ETS saying Charter Oak wasn't a recipient, but when I sent an email to COSC they said the code I used was correct. I thought I must have just transposed the numbers or something, but now the OP has made me wonder...I haven't tried to send it again yet. Please let me know what you find out, thanks!

Apparently, this is a problem that is just arising. I would not doubt that in the next year, Charter Oak changes its policy, and quits accepting GRE scores completely. I am still working on the problem.

    That was my first thought.

This has been resolved: I simply had to order an extra score report sent to myself, and send it to Charter Oak unopened.
