any suggestions ? has any one taken it and do they find it easy or hard info very much welcome.......
Everything I've read says this is one of the most difficult of the CLEP exams. I've tried the Peterson's practice exams for this CLEP, and they're tough-- so I almost expect the exam to be worse.
If you don't need the credit quickly - have you looked into enrolling in a college algebra course at Clovis Community College: www.clovis.edu $175 + books is a good deal. If you decide to go this route, you need to contact Clovis and make arrangements to take the Accuplacer Assessment. Clovis will NOT waive this requirement for Math and English classes. Shawn
If your school takes ACE accredited courses for credit, you can also used www.aleks.com. $20/month & they offer a few ACE accredited classes like College Alg & College Alg + Trig. Once you hit 70% in the class, you can request it to be added to your ACE Transcript. (First ACE Transcript is $40 though) The only real downside is that no matter how high you go with it after 70%, it still comes across as a Pass/Fail Class with a Pass.
thanks Thanks for the advice guys I’m getting a bit discourage I am 2 classes away from graduating and the only thing holding me back is college algebra and Principles of Stats, I took the math entrance exam for UMUC and got an 80 but they still want me to take 2 remedial math's before I actually take the math I need and on top of that I can’t take Principles of Statistics before I do my math, I m really tire of spending money and time and feeling like I’m being robbed, I not perfect in math but I’m not bad either.
Does it have to be College Algebra, or could it be College Mathematics? I took Mathematics and it was pretty easy. I reviewed basic algebra and probability (with the REA study guide), took practice tests, then took the CLEP and got a 63 on it easily.
